One day I will actually write up a blog post about a birthday party quicker than a few months after. Today is not that day haha! But I need to share the food we made for Norah’s Cloud Themed 3rd Birthday Party. I based the whole party around the fact she calls clouds clowns and I found it really cute haha. But when I showed her the ideas had she absolutely loved them and so a cloud-themed birthday party was born. Of course, the first thing I did was have a look through Pinterest and see what I could make.
For Norahs’ 2nd Bear Birthday and Ediths Boho Rainbow 5th Birthday, I made the marshmallows on a stick. They are so simple to make. But this time I used the leftover cake (from cutting the tiers) to make little cake pops. I then made loads of cloud-shaped biscuits that I popped on the front.
The cake balls were made from leftover buttercream and leftover cake. You just mix them up and form a ball. Pop in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Once completely set dip in coloured white chocolate and pop your biscuit on the front and leave to set. So simple but they looked and taste really good.
The rest of the biscuits I covered with candy floss to make them even more cloud-like. The girls absolutely loved them!
As for the cake, it was 2 Betty Crocker cake mixes. I then cut them to size and stacked them to make a tiered cake. Topped with more candy floss and white fondant clouds around the outside.
And finally, the cookie pops. The same cloud mix but before baking, I popped a paper lolly stick in them. Make sure you cut the biscuits thick enough to hold the stick.
I used this biscuit recipe and then white fondant. Once the fondant was set to the biscuit I piped on the face details.
Again another simple idea that looked really good.
The cake toppers were from MegcatHooray and the rainbow one was Meri Meri.
