Just before we encountered the sudden wave of heat, autumn was well an truly upon us. Colder, crisper mornings and the gorgeous golden glow. It’s just the best time of year. And how do you celebrate the best time of year? By wrapping up warm and heading into the garden for picnic. Well this time wasn’t quite a picnic for us more like a hot chocolate picnic and for Edith. Well she just wanted a bite from each red rosy apple.
We are far too guilty of spending the colder months inside and hibernating instead of getting out but this coming season I want to wrap up and get out. I want to head out for more walks, especially as we’ve just found a beautiful woods near us that needs exploring. Collaborating with Lighthouse Clothing couldn’t have come at a better time. They design and make beautiful clothing for daily life, everyday adventures and those who find joy by the sea – whatever the weather. You know that quote of there’s no such things as bad weather, just bad clothes. Well these guys take that point and prove that good clothes equal good weather. No matter what. Lighthouse is a purpose led brand, committed to creating well crafted clothing with a strong sense of style.
Of course when it came to our choices I couldn’t resist a bit of mother and daughter twinning. These long sleeved denim dresses are the sweetest match and they’re made out of a lovely material that will keep you warm. Edith’s Belle Dress in Washed Denim also comes in three other colourways. My beautiful Anna Dress in Washed Denim is crafted from 100% cotton and provides a more gentle alternative to stiff, uncomfortable denim.
Edith of course being the grown up girl she is chose the fluffiest pink jacket and I’m not going to lie I am so jealous. The Gracie Fleece is so soft and keeps her so warm. She wants to wear it at every opportunity. As for my husband and I jackets we went for waterproof jackets. His, Faroe Coat in a beautiful oxblood colourway and my Raven Coat in a gorgeous plum. The perfect autumnal colours. My jacket has the most beautifully soft shearling fleece lining, perfect to keep me cosy.
I know these pieces are going to become essential over the winter and will get a lot of use. Especially on those cold winter school run mornings. And I can’t wait to see what adventures we take them on. Watch this space I guess.
