A Rose Gold Party with Candle & Cake

At the end of May it was my Mum’s 60th Birthday. We wanted to host a party for her and make it as special as we could. My Mum isn’t a fan of big parties so we decided to just keep it to close family, although that still ended up being quite a few people!

We wanted the party to have the wow factor, as cheesy at it sounds, our goal was to impress my Mum when she walked through the door and thanks to Candle & Cake that’s exactly what we did. Candle & Cake are a party specialist, they stock such beautiful party wear and they are local to me too which is always amazing!

I made my computer desk into a little station full of plates, cups and cutlery. I made a print with my mum’s date of birth and added another bunch of flowers to make it look pretty. On the wall we hung a Rose Gold Party tassel garland. On the ceiling we hung poms poms and lanterns. The big rose gold 60 balloons stood in front.

My starting point for the party decor was the Rose Gold Party in a box. I love this idea. It has the basics you need. Party hats, plates, cups, a happy birthday sign and pretty napkins too. I added some Hip Hip Hooray napkins (and party bags to match) and picked some cute little canape plates for the sweet buffet. The party bags contained a miniature bottle of wine. Personalised chocolate bars and a balloon.

We popped the Rose Gold Party Happy Birthday Garland up above the fireplace, with more flowers and confetti balloons. Above the cake table we hung the rose gold and floral fans which looked so pretty. The white poms poms hung from the beam in the middle of the room.

The pink and gold candles sat so nicely on the naked cake I made (well it was a Betty Crocker cake mix!). I then had a gorgeous 60 cake topper made from Beautifully Boho. It looked so nice with the cake and candles and we gave it to my Mum to keep as a reminder of her day. The table confetti was actually from the box the Candle and Cake party decor came in. They packed it full of it so I decided to bag it up and sprinkle over the table. It looked really nice!

The party was a huge success and the decor looked amazing. In fact we’ve put it all away for Edith’s birthday come September. I’m excited to plan her party now!

This post has been written in collaboration with Candle & Cake. The party decor was provided for an honest review. Thank you to the brands who continue to support Little Paper Swans. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
