20 Week Update & Gender Reveal

The baby is the size of a banana! Baby weighs around 10.2 ounces and measures 6.5 inches from crown to rump according to The Bump.

Baby is kicking away inside and in the evenings I get a real good kicking. The kicks are so much stronger so much earlier this time. My husband has already felt baby kick which is amazing as I’m pretty sure I was 24 weeks with Edith when he could feel the kicks. It’s funny when Edith comes in for a cuddle and wakes baby up and gets a few kicks.

How I’m Feeling

I’ve felt a lot better in the past four weeks. The sickness has subsided quite a bit, I still have moments of sickness but they are a lot less.

The tiredness is still there but I think that’s because I have a lot to juggle. Running around after Edith and being self employed means I get very little rest. I’m slowly getting used to it though.

In the past week I’ve had awful backache. It’s right in my tailbone and sends shooting pains right up my back and down to my legs. It’s really not nice.

Heartburn and acid reflux is still here to stay. I think this baby might turn out to be a hairy one haha!

The twinges I talked about in my last update have subsided a lot I maybe get them a couple of times a week.

Sleeping is starting to get uncomfortable and I’m beginning to wonder if a pregnancy pillow is worth the investment.

Weight Gain & Diet

I have no clue on the weight gain. I imagine it’s a good few pounds as this bump is starting to get big!

As for diet, I can eat most things again as long as I fancy them. Does that even make sense? I’ve planned our meals around foods I fancy. I’m still not the biggest pizza fan which for a pizza lover it’s breaking my heart. I jest, this little baby is totally worth every moment of not having pizza.

Still no specific cravings but chocolate and chips are my favourite foods right now. So healthy!

Bump & Clothes

I’m still in my maternity jeans and there is a bit of growing room. I have had to pack away a few tops that are too short, having your bump on show isn’t the greatest trend is it. I’d love to get a few more maternity bits, but I’m struggling to find some nice bits, send all recommendations this way.

I’ve had a few comments that my bump is looking big and then others say that it’s not really there. People are fun aren’t they? (I’ve got a post all about what not to say to pregnant women coming up soon). I’m much bigger than I was at this point with Edith but that’s just because my body knows what it is doing.

I’ve not seen a midwife since 16 weeks and I don’t see one now until 28 weeks. I’ll get to hear the heartbeat then and I can’t wait. I’m definitely going to record it again like we did with Edith’s. Such a lovely reminder.

Of course today was the day of our 20 week scan. Everything went well and everything is growing as it should. It’s amazing to see everything in such close detail.

I guess you might want to know the gender then? Scroll down for all to be revealed. We are so excited.

    Congratulations! Very cute reveal!

I love how honest you are about your pregnancy – it’s really nice to read about the things you’re struggling with rather than just sharing the glowing elements!

I can’t imagine not wanting pizza though, as another pizza lover I couldn’t imagine that! But like you say, it’s worth it!

Congratulations on half way! Best news, my two little girls are best of friends still even at 13 and 10, and they even allow their little brother to be their side kick. Sisters are the best! Wishing you all the happiness in the world xoxo
