It’s that time again where I gush about how I can’t believe that my baby is 8 months old. But seriously? How is it even possible? Our baby girl is changing day by day and is growing up!
I thought that last month was tough, it was but it was just a sign of things to come. This month was even tougher, you’ll see why below, but things are now starting to get better again. Being a mama is bloody hard work but worth every single second.
It’s been another tough month for sleep. Sleep training went out the window with teething. There was no way I could ignore her crying out in pain. At one point we were at every 45 minutes but we are now getting back to every few hours and I’m hoping that that will go up even more. Naps during the day are now at 45 minutes to an hour. Still as difficult as ever to get to take them, this girl does not want to miss a thing. She naps morning, lunch and afternoon. Getting Edith into more of bedtime routine has helped her I think, she normally settles down really well and goes for 7PM- 10PM without waking. I’m hoping to get back to the sleep training now teething seems to have eased off a little.
Edith now eats 3 meals a day. Daddy sorts out her breakfast, then she eats what I eat at lunch and what we both eat in the evening. It’s great as it means we don’t have to buy lots of extra food, we will give her different things if we are having something that’s not suitable for her to eat and we leave off any seasoning too. She’s really interested in food and feeds from me a lot less.
Edith feeds in the morning, again around 11, again at 2 and sometimes a little at 5. She then had her night feed around 7. It’s a lot less than it was which is great as she’s a lot more independent but then selfishly I miss feeding her, Weird isn’t it! She’s still as happy as ever to take expressed milk.
I still haven’t had Edith weighed, were going to take her next Thursday but I have no concerns. She’s clearly gaining weight really well. We’ve just started going into 9-12 clothing which is making me sad, how can she be so big already but at the same time, she’s got some gorgeous 9-12 pieces.
We’ve just moved up into 4+ nappies, which are a touch too big but much better fit round those chubby legs!
[Look at those teeth, dribble and all those chins!]
The big one, Edith has 2 front teeth! (That’s why we had the month from hell!)
Developing her sense of humor, she loves a joke!
Hugging, she really clings on now.
“Talking” even more than last month.
