Last Thursday the Mr. my mum and I bundled into the car and headed off for sunny Southwold. A place that will always feel special to me. We had many trips here when I was growing up and I fell in love with the place all over again. So I decided to take my camera and video camera along so I could show you the town in all its glory.

We picked such a great day. The sun was shining all day and it was perfect to spend the day right by the sea. Even though I live by the sea I still enjoy visiting other seasides. We walked along the famous pier and watched the waves roll onto the beach. It was so peaceful in the moment and it felt like you were on holiday. It was just perfect.

Along the pier there are plaques that people have bought, some in memory of loved ones and some were about the found memories of visiting Southwold. There are also metal bollards (I'm not great at describing techinal things) but you can see in the picture above, people were trying to throw money on them. We didn't have any change on us otherwise we would have joined in too. We then walked along the beach into the town passing the pastel coloured beach huts. The beach was already crowded at 10 everyone must have decided to spend the day at the beach.

As we walked into town we passed many pretty houses, enough to make you fall in love and move instantly. When we got into the town the streets were lined with bunting and it looked so "seasidey". We popped in charity shops, where my mum picked up a beautiful lilac dress which she's planning on wearing for my cousins wedding. We also looked round a few independent shops and vintage shops before dribbling over the windows (not literally) at the Two Magpies Bakery. The food looked amazing and I'm gutted we didn't head in, it's definitely on my list for next time. I mean look at those meringues!

It was such a lovely way to spend a beautiful summers day. The Mr recorded a video for me and edited it too. He's getting quite good, don't tell him I said that, who am I kidding he's probably reading this! We are planning a trip on Friday so I'm hoping to bring along the cameras again. I am beginning to really love summer.

  5. I LOVE seaside towns and Sidmouth is my favourite. It's a very English thing - I spent 10 years of my life without deck chairs, 99s, evil seagulls...I just love the smell of the sea.

    1. I do. Living by the sea makes any seaside town feel like home. Oh hate the seagulls though!
