Polka dot weekends.

Yesterday was a perfect day off. If only I had a few more. It was my mum’s birthday so after spending Saturday evening baking a cake we popped over to see her. Taking a cream cake in a hot car was a bit risky but I packed it with ice and it worked. Which I’m very grateful for, rather than a hot cream cakey mess. That would not be great. No thank you.
In the afternoon I had a photo shoot booked so we nipped out to a little garden. We then headed back to mum’s before deciding where we would go out for mum’s birthday dinner. We headed to a local pub by the sea which was just perfect. 4 meals, 3 desserts and a couple of glasses of wine later we went back to mum’s for a slice of her birthday cake, after singing happy birthday at the top of our lungs. It was such a lovely day.
I’m back at work today. Cramming lots into one day of is tricky, my housework is mounting up and I have a few blog posts to plan. Luckily I’m not at work until lunchtime tomorrow so hopefully I’ll get some time to sort everything out. If someone could add another day to the week I’d be really grateful.
I’m also hoping to make a few changes to my blog. I just want to improve it and get as far as I can. When you’ve worked hard on something for two years it’s hard seeing others getting a lot further than you. I don’t know I think we (meaning bloggers) all go through a stage of wanting to change things up and make things better for ourselves. Any advice would be lovely! I’ve been speaking to a few other bloggers who feel the same way. Oooh I don’t know, I’m just stuck in a bit of a rut. Time for change I think.
I hope you had a lovely weekend and if you are off today enjoy it!
